Our
History -
Sunrise UMC came to life at our first worship
celebration on November
3, 1996. Under the leadership of the
founding pastor, a committed group began meeting for worship
at Holly Springs Elementary School. From those first days,
the people of Sunrise have looked ahead to where Christ would
lead us.
On Easter Sunday, 2001, we had the first worship service in
our present building. Since then we have continued to worship,
serve, and grow.
As we continue to discern the vision of God for Sunrise Church,
we are encouraged that you are interested in becoming part
of the fellowship here. Whether you have just moved to the
area, or have lived here all your life, there is place for
you at Sunrise.

Who are we at Sunrise?
• We strive to touch your heart and stretch your mind.
• We accept you as you are, while challenging you to be all that
God is calling you to be.
• We are a congregation that gathers to worship, learn and fellowship,
then scatters to serve others in the name of Jesus Christ.
As Christians we believe:
• In God the Father in whose image you are formed, who loves
you, and wants to be in relationship with you.
• In Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father. Jesus was crucified
for your sins, he died and was buried. On the third day
He rose from the dead and is your only hope for salvation.
• In the Holy Spirit who is sent to comfort you and teach you
until Jesus comes again. It is only by the power of the
Holy Spirit that you can have faith and can lead a life of Christian
discipleship. As a United Methodist Congregation:
• We proclaim the gospel through faithful biblical preaching
and teaching.
• We encourage a strong, warm-hearted personal relationship
with Jesus.
• We are called to serve our Lord, our Church, our Community
and our World through our prayers, presence, gifts and our
Christian service.
